Who's Who on our Online Master of Arts in Animation?

For our new animation students starting with us in September, there is a good deal of information to take on board, including who does what at Bucks.

There are a number of people involved in delivering our MA - the first online MA in animation in the world.

Below is a brief guide to help our new cohort of students figure out who's who, who does what, and how to get in touch with the key people whose job it is to help our students get excellent results.

Alexander Williams – Animation Apprentice
I helped to develop the Online MA in 2014, and helped to steer it through the validation process.  The MA launched in September 2015, and grew out of a partnership between Bucks New University and my online school Animation Apprentice, founded in 2012. 

I oversee the practical day-to-day delivery of and grading of the practical, animation element of the course.

All our students get a login to the main site at Animation Apprentice, and access to hundreds of video tutorials.

Fil Ieropoulos

Dr Fil Ieropoulos – Course Leader and Academic Lead
Dr Fil Ieropoulos is Course Leader and responsible for the delivery and assessment of the written work and academic content. Fil can be reached on fil.ieropoulos@bucks.ac.uk.  Any questions about academic content, dissertations or academic marking should be directed to Fil.

Student Finance- Ann Swanborough
Anne Swanborough is the student finance officer. She can help with any finance questions. Anne.Swanborough@Bucks.ac.uk

Registry Office 

Registry Officer - Zoe Casey
The Course Registry Officer for the Online MA is Zoe Casey. Zoe can be contacted at Zoe.Casey@Bucks.ac.uk
Kate deals with general questions of enrolment, marking, grades, academic deadlines, regulatory advice, claims for mitigating circumstances, academic misconduct, examination boards, and academic results. 

Emma Tomsett - Registry Administrator

The Course Registry Administrator is Emma Tomsett.  Emma deals with questions related to marks entry,  extensions, module enrolments, Blackboard enrolments, and sending work to external examiners for moderation.

Blackboard
Access to Blackboard can be given by Course Leader Dr Fil Ieropoulos, or by Registrar Kate Hughes.

Academic Faculty - Russel Stone
Heading up the School of Design, Media and Management at Bucks is Russel Stone. Russel is our Head of School, and has overall responsibility for all the courses within the School.  He can be contacted by email at Russel.Stone@Bucks.ac.uk. Russel does not however deal with day to day management issues on the online MA in Animation.

External Examiner
The External Examiner for the Online MA is Mike Smith, Head of Animation at Leeds Arts University.
