On Thursday 12th March (11.00 - 12.00 am Owen Harris 1 Lecture Theater if you are local) Sir John Hegarty will be continuing in our series of talks on advertising, marketing and creativity. Sir John was the founder of top advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, which has worked with clients such as Levis, BA, Weetabix, and The Guardian. The advert featuring Nick Kamen undressing in a Launderette was a breakthrough for Levi's classic 501 brand.
Sir John Hegarty joined Cramer and Saatchi in 1967. He was a founding shareholder when it became Saatchi and Saatchi. In 1982 he founded Bartle Bogle and Hegarty which he still runs today. BBH is one of the most influential and awarded agencies in the world. BBH are famous for adverts like the Levis Launderette advert, Audi's campaign immortalising the phrase ' Vorsprung Durch Technic'. Sir John has won numerous industry accolades at D&AD, Cannes and in British TV. In 2006 he was awarded an honorary Doctorate by Bucks, and Middlesex University!
