This year at Bucks we are encouraging all of our students to enter The Rookies Awards, the international competition for young creatives.
The Rookies was founded in 2009 to "showcase the most talented student designers, illustrators, film makers, animators, developers, digital artists, and launch them into the career of their dreams."
This year's deadline is May 15th, so there is plenty of time to start crafting a great project.
How do the Rookies work?
Start by creating an entry page and submitting your details. You set up a page and use it to showcase your best work - this can be both as a team (say, on a group project) and also individual work. Note that professional client-facing paid work is not admissible.
What is the deadline to enter?
You can enter your work anytime from March 7th until the deadline of May 15th.
What sort of thing should go on a student page?
Students should treat their entry page as something they would show a recruiter when applying for a job. It should include a small bio about them, examples of their work, and your work history.
How do awards get made?
The Rookies judges will review student work and make awards.
Can it lead to a job?
Yes, the Rookies has a number of recruitment partners who promote student work and help students find jobs.
